A problem about physical units in fenics

Hi, I am trying to solve a poisson equation for the gravitational potential field of a galaxy. So the data has some unique units; for instance, mass is in sun masses, length is in kiloparsecs (kpc), and velocity is in km/s. I’d like to inquire about the default units in FEniCS and how to handle these unit issues when solving problems in FEniCS. If you could give me some suggestions, I would appreciate it.

The geometry used by DOLFINx is agnostic to physical units. The length scale and other physical quantities are prescribed by your model.

Thanks for the answer. That means that when dealing with units, I can start by assuming that the default units for fenics are international units, and then based on that, adjust the data right?

No. FEniCS has no units. It simply solves the mathematics that you provide to it. You determine your units in the equation that you give to FEniCS (your weak formulation) .
