Convergence test for FEM simulation for wave equation with nonuniform velocity

Hi, I am wondering if anyone has any hints on how to perform convergence analysis for wave equations - check if grid resolution is fine enough and the time step is fine enough? Any references or notes would be largely appreciated. Thanks
