Dear,
Is it possible to simulate some kind of mechanism in fenics, for example a robotic arm? Any examples available?
Is it possible to consider a rotation system between two 3d meshes created in gmsh and thus simulate in fenics?
I believe it is possible considering a bar system, but with a 2d or 3d mesh I didn’t find anything.
Hi,
I have the same problem with the robotic arm. Could you please tell me whether you have solved it in fenics or fenicsx?
Unfortunately, I was unable to solve this problem. In my studies, I ended up considering only the distinct domains, generating independent meshes in GMSH, with the contact between the meshes of the different domains following the GMSH standard, but without inserting any “mechanism” conditions.
It would be very interesting if someone could work on this path. I currently have a student checking this possibility using Inventor Nastran. But it is for topological optimization of multicomponent systems considering two or more domains connected by “bolts”.
I would like to take this opportunity to suggest that if there is anyone from a university who is interested in a research project partnership in this area, I would be interested.
Thank you for your reply. It would be great if someone could find a method to couple the simulation of the motion of the rigid body and the deformation of elastic material with fenics.
