The FEniCS 2024 Conference is the premier event for the FEniCS community, bringing together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to share the latest advances in the development and use of FEniCS.
The conference will feature a variety of talks, tutorials and posters on all aspects of FEniCS, including:

  • Numerical methods for solving partial differential equations
  • High-performance computing
  • Software research and development
  • Applications in all areas of science, including biomedicine and engineering

One of the substantial differences compared to FEniCS 2023 is that Italians aren’t gonna swim in the Norwegian sea.

Call for abstracts

We are happy to announce that the abstract submission portal for FEniCS 2024 at Simula Research Laboratory (https://www.simula.no/), Oslo, Norway from June 12th to June 14th is open (https://fenicsproject.org/fenics-2024/).

Key Highlights:

  • Abstract submission deadline for presentations/posters: April 5th, 2024
  • Notification of acceptance by: April 12th, 2024
  • All authors of accepted abstracts are invited to submit a 6-10 page paper to the FEniCS 2024 conference proceedings, published in Simula SpringerBriefs on Computing (Simula SpringerBriefs on Computing | Book series home)

FEniCS 2024 Conference Best Presentation and Poster Awards

The FEniCS 2024 Conference will take place June 12-14 2024 at Simula Research Laboratory, Oslo, Norway.

We are thrilled to announce that the following awards will be presented at the conference:

  • Best FEniCS 2024 Presentation by a PhD Candidate
  • Best FEniCS 2024 Presentation by a Postdoctoral Researcher
  • Best FEniCS 2024 Poster

Thanks to the generous support and sponsorship from the Ridgway Scott Foundation, each winner will receive a USD 500 prize.

All eligible presentations and posters will be evaluated by the FEniCS 2024 Award Committee appointed by the FEniCS Steering Council.

FEniCS 2024 Conference Travel Award

NumFOCUS have kindly offered to support travel awards for attendees who would otherwise struggle to come to the conference for financial reasons, e.g. junior students and researchers or those working in countries with a less developed research infrastructure. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit an abstract to the conference. To apply for a travel award, send a letter of motivation, an estimation of travel costs, CV and if applicable, the title of the submitted conference abstract to dokken@simula.no. Applications will be assessed by the local organizing committee. The cut-off date for applications is April 15th.
