Models involving rotating mesh in dolfinx

Define two function spaces corresponding to each sub-domain, create a mixed element out of them and then somehow impose continuity of fields at the interface between the two domains. To start simple, let’s consider that each function space is scalar CG.

Consider Coupling the equations defined on two different subdomains.

Make the mesh inside the circular domain rotate in time with a specified angular velocity while the mesh outside remains unchanged. This naturally means we will need to interpolate on non-matching meshes at the circular interface between the two domains.

How to rotate a mesh in FEniCs?

Ive not read the whole paper that you are referring to, so its hard for me to say anything with too much confidence. The paper seems two involve multiple meshes with assembly from functions on one mesh being transferred to the other, which I guess one could do with the non-matching mesh interpolation implemented by @Massimiliano_Leoni (see for instance https://github.com/FEniCS/dolfinx/blob/84b16751821d359fb2c5db74bcf2894b9c69db74/python/test/unit/fem/test_function.py#L180).

I do not get how to rotate a few selected domains

I also don’t know how to do that, you might have to open a new post to ask that or can continue on How to rotate a mesh in FEniCs?

I just create two different geometries for each subdomain from the beginning such that each have their own mesh, ct, and ft objects?
